Last time I went apartment hunting, I was determined to get an apartment with a stairwell so my cat would have to work out a bit -- strangely enough I found a great one bedroom place with a stairwell (kitchen at ground level, bedroom/bathroom upstairs.) My cat (Misty) loves it and always waits by the top of the steps for me, after which she laps my ass on the way down. Makes me laugh. Anyway, I recommend stairs but I admit, the microwave lives in my bedroom and I have considered a mini-fridge for upstairs, so I guess it can get to be a pain. ;) You have a beautiful home, Clintus.
