You might ask the dermatologist to suggest a non-cream based high protection sunscreen. They are out there and they do work. Sorry to hear about the problems with the spots. In fact, every day I have to wear 30 SPF. Luckily, they have facial creams with 30 SPF built in (I used to use Oil of Olay, but now use Aveeno). So, it's not too bad.
