oh, in the begiinning, when I say that
“if they put everything together at once then on one will buy it”
I meant to say that “people wouldn’t buy the next version”

and thats basically what you just said.
    so yea I agree. lol

  2. Watching the live-blogging of WWDC ‘08 got me excited: new iPhone 3G with new features. Then I started weighing the pros/cons: sure, it’s only $199 for the new 8GB model. Sure, 3G is fast. But 3G is also more expensive, adding at least $10 more monthly to my AT&T bill. I like the blacked-out back of the phone, but I have the same iPhone case as you and it blacks the back…

I’m more excited for the release of 2.0 (and the jailbreak!) than I am for the release of iPhone 3G, simply for the reasons you stated: Apple’s never going to make an Earth-shattering, full-featured kickass phone; they’re going to make slow additions to it yearly so it will sell and sell and sell and… you get the point.

  3. I’m quite happy with my iPhone and agree with Nick re. 3G. I have more than enough free wifi spots in a big city like Philly and a small town like Rock Hall Maryland which I wander. As far as video, I always have a nice Sonyshot in pocket. This comment sent via G3 iMac running Tiger!

  4. The biggest thing is ppl want Picture txt and that something that keeps alot of regular ppl from byin the phone. Fuck apple i am gonna get the new iphone yes but im giving my old one to my girl and i got a free hundred bucks from apple so i get the phone cheap. but there will be so many ppl still un happy with the phone!

  5. Just wait until you see the ZunePhone!

  6. Great points.

I’m also flabbergasted by the number of people complaining that the new iPhone will cost them $10 extra per month. The fact that many other data plans are more expensive than even the new iPhone plan (my Blackberry plan with Verizon, for one) aside … if you’re the target audience for the iPhone, you have $10 extra disposable per month.

The iPhone is very tempting, but not tempting enough for me to leave my reliable Verizon/Blackberry life. I need my calls to go through and I need international data access, neither of which AT&T can handle very well. Maybe iPhone 3!

  7. T-mobile actually does have G3: http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/05/05/t-mobile-officially-rolls-out-umtshsdpa-network/

oh yeah and $200 is only with a 2 yr agreement so.. pretty much no luck there

  8. here in germany t-mobile is our iPhone distributor, but their contracts are worse than expected (50€/month for data “flat” (the speed is technically slowed down after 300mb), 50 minutes talky time and 40 sms inclusive). so no iphone for me :(

  9. Yup. You’re bang on. Gotta have plans for boosting revenues and units sold year on year.
But I still want to complain because I WANT it and I can’t afford to buy it until it has what I need. I don’t have that kind of disposable cash for gadgets, to buy something temporary. There are too many other things to save up for. So I want them to give me no choice but to go out and buy the fucker. I KNOW that a better version will be coming out next year with the only thing I really NEED (video and editing) and I’m not going to buy one now knowing that I’ll have to spend the same money again next year. I have a Mac. And a Nokia smartphone with video and editing. And 3G isn’t all that. I’ve had it for four years and it’s been obsolete for the last 18 months since I got a phone with Wifi. Like Jimmy said, there’s wifi everywhere. 3G is a gimmick. So I stick with my Nokia phone, which has everything I want except the interface. Interface isn’t worth as much as What It Does, I guess.
On the other hand, I recognise that I’m a freak and that most people who want to buy an iPhone don’t really give too much of a crap about shooting video on their phone.
But when it comes, it will be glorious.

  10. 3 things I had hoped would be included in the new iPhone 3G:

    _better camera
    _MMS – picture texts
    _copy/paste

I doubt I will upgrade my iPhone to the 3G as well – since none of these things were included. I am just excited to see what types of apps will be available in the Apps Store.
