The film reviews I really enjoy are ones that expand the film experience for me, perhaps by pointing out a parallel with one of the director's other films, or an older film that may have influenced the director's choices. I'm also more interested in how an actor's performance relates to their other performances, rather than just "He was amazing." Maybe there's trivia, or a thought-provoking question, or something confusing that the reviewer took the time to research (or already knew the answer to) and can share in the review. I don't think having a positive or negative slant impacts my interest in a review... again, I'm more interested in getting something more from the review than I got from the movie. I would love to know *why* you think a movie is funny or sad or scary or a blistering social commentary of the day .... But if all you're going to say is "it was funny, the acting was good, etc" without citing examples or delving into your own personality by exploring your reaction to the movie, well, I can get that just about anywhere. But that's me. Just my two cents. And not a criticism of you. So get more fan comments or just decide for yourself. I come here because I'm interested in you & your life.
