Me Right Now – Backups
Finally bought an external hard drive and running Time Machine for the first time. The hard drive I went with was a SimpleTech [re]drive; “the energy-efficient, resource-conscious external hard drive made with renewable, naturally grown bamboo and recyclable aluminum”. Plus it looks pretty cool too.
Dude, great post. I just got two of those drives tool. ($87 at Fry’s on sale). So how has yours been working for you. Ive noticed that if my machine sleeps, the drive turns off, and then when the Mac turns back on I get a message about the drive having been unplugged without being ejected, but so far no problems. Also, if I try to use the drive through a USB hub it hangs the system when I log back in after a sleep. (or at least until i disconnect the power from the drive)
