The Video Blogger is Dead

Let me make myself clear, I am referring to the traditional video blog style creators, the “talking heads” if you will. I recognize the other great networks and sites out there for serialized shows, film makers, and artists. My point is simply that the world of video blogging has evolved and you must embrace it if you want to move forward. I have finally realized this. Of course this is just my opinion.

I want to be perfectly clear and straight forward as to the purpose of this blog post. I want you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. That’s it. Simple. But if you are looking for a reason as to why, please continue reading.

I’ve been putting videos on the internet now for over 3 years, and over this time I have switched hosts and changed the way I present my videos multiple times. One thing I have never done is promote my YouTube channel. Until recently I’ve never asked you to go to it, I’ve never sent the link out, it was just another site for my videos to sit on. My goal is to drive most if not all of my video traffic there in hopes to get accepted into their partner program. This is going to take a long time and a lot of hard work. My videos do not attract a lot of views by themselves due to the sheer nature of them. I realize I’m going to have to step it up and stop being so lazy. I know I’ll have to bust my ass to get into that partner program. That’s my part of the deal.

Your part? By simply clicking that yellow subscribe button on my channel you’ll be helping drive traffic even if you yourself never actually watch one of my videos. Because other people will see that you subscribe to me and they will perhaps check out my videos and perhaps subscribe themselves and thus keep the cycle going. Plus, the number of subscribers you have plays a big part in how YouTube functions. The other reason you should subscribe of course is to know when I post a new video.

If you find a video you like give it a thumbs up, favorite it. One thing I’ve learned is the community is what drives everything on YouTube.
