Last December I was in Atlanta on a business trip and visited the Georgia Aquarium on my last day there. It’s home to the largest single aquarium in the world. The reason they wanted the biggest? To house the largest fish in the ocean: Whale Sharks.

It’s February 2nd and I’m feeling pretty damn good about that. January was kind of a wash for me. I think recovering from the holidays and getting back into the full swing of things at work played a roll but whatever. February is here and I’m ready to CRUSH IT. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

In looking at my list of new year’s resolutions I decided I needed to really start with the whole scheduleing my time better piece. I am devoting the first hour of my day to consuming content. The next 30mins are devoted to creating content. That should cover my interweb usage on a daily basis. After that I’m 100% devoted to the family and the father/husband things that require my time and attention.

What about the other items on my list? Well I am starting by scheduling lunch dates with my brothers and date night with the wife. Lucky for me (and her) this month has a holiday devoted to love. Awwww. I’m already drinking more tea thanks to Adagio; that’s the easiest one on the list. Comics: I have a stack to rip into I just need to make some time I hung out with two different set of Phoenix friends this weekend which was awesome! I’m going to try and make it to more of the events I get invited to on Facebook, that will help for sure.

That’s it so far. Not bad for the 2nd day of the month huh? On another note, I’ve started a personal experiment that I’m keeping under wraps for the first month and a new video project. I’m thinking with only 1 video a month required that I should be able to hit my mark. I’ll keep you posted on my progress on all of this stuff each month. That should help cover the blogging more

1. write more blog posts.
2. drink more tea
3. read more comics
4. ride more dirt bikes
5. spend more time with my brothers
6. ride my bike more
7. hang out with my Phoenix crew more
8. keep in touch more with my out of state friends
9. plan at least one date night with my wife per month
10. read more news, local and world
11. SCHEDULE MY TIME BETTER

I think all of this is doable if I can stick to #11.

I was riding on a shuttle to the airport this morning and overheard a guy talking to the driver about his trip to Phoenix. I missed the first part of it so I don’t know where this happened but I assume on his flight in. Basically he was saying that he lost both his wallet and his cell phone upon arriving to Phoenix and has been having one hell of time since then. He called the credit card company to stop anyone from using the card but that also means he couldn’t use it so he has no money. Plus he said couldn’t remember anyone’s number so he couldn’t get money wired to him. He was basically shit of luck.

This made me think, could I survive being in a unfamiliar city with no phone and no wallet? Could you? I often say to people that I can pretty much be dropped off anywhere regardless if I’ve ever been there before and be just fine. Buuuuut, that’s with money and with my iPhone. To do that without either is fucking crazy. Now granted, I know a dozen phone numbers or so that I could get a hold of somebody to wire me some money and be ok; but it would still make life very difficult. The fact that this guy couldn’t get a hold of anyone that could send him money is kind of shitty and totally his fault. He mentioned that his flight wasn’t until Tuesday and to bump it up to today would cost him $150. It would seem that he’s going to be here for a while with nothing to do.

So, do you think you could do it?

It’s been around for almost two years and I’ve been using it for over one. But it wasn’t till just recently when I found out about their iPhone apps did I start using them again. I now have 5 different ways to get video up to them and being a huge fan of video blogging on the go this is huge! The concept behind 12seconds.tv is exactly what I live for; sharing little moments. 12 seconds is a good amount of time to share a moment and they make it so easy.

Now these videos are a bit different than my regular ones. 12 seconds requires you to be creative on how to capture what’s going on in a short amount of time. They’ll always be shot with either my iPhone or with my webcam and almost always go to Twitter and Facebook. The site itself is cool as well. They offer badges which you unlock when you shoot a video meeting a certain criteria. There is also a daily challenge and a random idea generator so even if you don’t have anything to shoot or talk about they can help you out.

So check out my channel over at 12seconds.tv or watch the videos in my sidebar via the 12seconds widget. They’re tiny nibblets of video goodness.
